About Us

Ms. De Witt

Welcome to a brand-new year!

My name is Lori De Witt. I want you to know that I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I have been teaching fourth grade for 20 (+) years and feel it is the best grade to be in in all of elementary!
I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I have two married children and seven grandchildren. I am very blessed to have them all live locally and love spending time with them. I have been a member of Tulare Community Church since 1989 where I have taught Sunday School, VBS, have been a youth group leader, and have also been involved on the Praise Team. I love vacationing over at the coast and up in the mountains and just relaxing with a good book.
I feel so blessed to be able to teach here at CVC and will do my best to help your child be the best he or she can be. Learning about CA and learning to work independently are two things we concentrate on in the 4th grade. However, growing a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learning to be more of who He wants us to be is why Christian Education is so important to the lives of our children. I look forward to getting to know all of you better. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you have throughout the year. I covet your prayers for our school, class and myself, and look forward to another fantastic year!

Mrs. Lyzenga

My name is Rebekah Lyzenga.  Teaching fourth grade is a huge blessing in my life and I'm excited to work alongside your child this year!  With God as our strength and guide, I trust that together, we will make this year the best it can be.
I grew up in small-town DeMotte, Indiana.  My parents valued Christian education and I was able to attend DeMotte Christian School from K-12th grade.  I continued in Christian education at Dordt College, where I received my BA in Elementary Education.  I moved west to Visalia in August of 2008 to start teaching here at CVC.  I met Jeremy Lyzenga (another Midwest native!) at Visalia Christian Reformed Church and we got married in 2011.  Our son Caleb was born in May of 2014 and is an energetic and loving gift in our lives! We then welcomed little miss Selah (pronounced Say-lu) into our family in November of 2016. In April 2018 our daughter Chloe was born.
Christian education has been my passion for as long as I can remember.  I value teachers that prayed with me, led me in devotions and gave me a deep-seated desire to be a Christian school teacher.  It is my honor and privilege to teach your child, and I hope and pray this year blesses you as much as I know it will me.
